Effective immediately: all stateline skywarn storm spotters will refrain from using emergency lighting (of any color) when spotting storms for the StatelineSkywarn Organization. If you feel you need to use lighting, use your factory equipped flashers. All StatelineSkywarn members will adhere to all traffic laws And yield to any emergency vehicle while spotting storms for the StatelineSkywarn Organization. Statelineskywarn is an Organization developed to save lives and property by spotting storms (not chasing them) and reporting to the Emergency Operations Center to give advanced notification to the National Weather Service on approaching storms in our covered area. We are not in it for the thrill or recognition in anyway. Any violation of these policies will not be tolerated and will result in immediate dismissal from the statelineSkywarn Organization. Please see Oklahoma Statute Title 47 for the details of this law.

Our Mission:

  • The principal mission of the above mentioned groups is to, when called upon, provide emergency communications for Northwest and North Central Oklahoma and South Central Kansas.

  • In addition, the following items are also considered to be fundamental purposes for which our group has been established:

  • Amateur radio operators will provide communications services to community organizations for special events such as parades, foot or bicycle races, etc., whenever appropriate for the purpose of training and enhancement of communications skills of its members.

  • The leadership will strive to establish and maintain a effective working relationship between itself and the local authorities

  • The membership will help establish a self-contained network of amateur radio stations or other necessary equipment in locations deemed appropriate for provision of critical information flow in an emergency situation.

  • The groups will establish and constantly improve efficient procedures for contacting members under emergency conditions and for assigning them to critical locations.

  • Publicity for amateur radio activities will be provided in order to obtain more public and government awareness of and support for the group and its capabilities.

  • New members will be sought in order to maintain and expand our necessary capabilities.
